Stony Brook State Park is a physically small park when compared to Watkins Glen or the nearby Letchworth State Park. But I feel it may be my favorite of the three. That may be because it is the one I’ve visited the least. Or it may be because it is rarely busy when I visit. Part of that comes from the fact that most of the park is closed in winter. But so is Watkins Glen. At any rate, when I was there about a month ago it was still warm enough to wade in the creek to take photos. The leaves were at near peak in the gorge, and there were wonderful reflections to be shared with everyone. surprisingly, even though the afternoon was nearly perfect for photography I only met one other photographer in the park that day.
