Adirondack Park and Preserve- The View South from Mt. Marcy

The view southwards from Mt. Marcy’s peek is somewhat different from the northward view.  There are more slides visible (those bald areas on other peeks) and lakes are a bit more noticeable.  This view faces towards Albany and New York City, although both are of course well out of view.  There are also more lichens in view, perhaps due to their exposure to the warmth of the sun.

Looking Southwards from the top of Mount Marcy, the highest mountain in New York State. Notice the lakes in the distance and the splash of red added by a hikers backpack.
