Forgotten Graves

Deep in the woods

There are graves

That few ever see

In northern woods

The old forgotten

Farmstead there

Out in the Rockies

That forest grave

Marks an old claim

Beyond the horizon

Out on the prairie

Where freedmen found freedom

And in the west

Where strangers

Fell on their long walk

Marked

With stone and board

The earth remembers what we forget
