Sandhill Cranes

I finally saw Sandhill Cranes in the wild today.  Even when I spent a summer working in Nebraska I never had the chance.  But today I was driving along Interstate 75 in Florida and saw a pair of them.  As they flew along cossing my path my first thought was that they were the largest Great Blue Herons I’d ever seen.  But as they dipped down to land I clearly saw their heads and knew.
